BRAVO to Cleveland Women Working on their Third Year Anniversary. In three short years they went from three members to enough to need the Royal Oak Room in the Terminal Tower and attracted Louis Stokes as speaker, as well as many other political figures.

BRAVO to lone Biggs for receiving the first distinguished service award from Cleveland Women Working.

BOO to the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Cleveland Press for their one-sided and slanted coverage of the abortion issue during January. Both papers covered the activities of the compulsory pregnancy people while ignoring the four events sponsored by the prochoice movement.

BRAVO to the women at What She Wants for their continued support and information on all options involved in pregnancy and child-bearing. They've worked hard to protect every woman's right to choose. [Submitted by EFCO]

POETRY

BOO to the Willoughby Fire Department for publicizing in many newspapers the hiring of a Woman for their Rescue Squad and then seven months later telling her (1) she had to pass firefighting school, (2) she could not get her school. results even though the men in the class did, and (3) that they had to let her go.

BRAVO to TV 3 Sports for televising a portion of the girls' basketball game between Cleveland Heights and Collinwood High.

BRAVO to the basket Randi Powers made on TV.

BRAVO to Education for Freedom of Choice in Ohio (EFCO) for their ongoing efforts in support of ¡women.

BOO to the defense attorney in the Greta Rideout case who used the fact that Greta had had two abortions to discredit her testimony.

Is it filling his head

With a lot of drippy nonsense

As to what it really means

To be a man?

Taking away his ability

To love and be tender?

Just to keep his eyes dry?

Mr., you'd better cry!

If you don't

You'll die!

Not knowing

The sweet relief

Of shedding

Wet, wet tears of grief.

Learn how to cry

The ability to cry

Whenever I can

My theme will be

Very unclear;

My plot

Will be vague

My poem will be flowery

Definitely opaque.

My words will be magnificent

And chosen with care,

Your knowledge of the King's English

Will get you nowhere.

Yes, to confuse and astound you

Will be part of the plan.
